1. Learning HTML will take a lot time. Here wordpress can help. Having a little bit knowledge of HTML can help creating a website using wordpress.
2. Other platforms like Drupal and Joomla also requires a little bit of coding knowledge. But wordpress is not like that.
3. If you go with website builders, then you will need money because they are expensive. But this is not true with wordpress.
4. Sticking with wordpress is good for starters. As it is easy and it is also good for everyone from small business owners to freelancers to blogger to artists.
Step 2: Choose a domain name and hosting partner.
If you want to set up wordpress or joomla or drupal then you are gonna need these two things: Domain name and Hosting partner.
The wordpress is free but if you are gonna do it professionally then you will need to invest $3-$5. If you do it for free on wordpress then your domain name will look something like this (www.yoursitename.wordpress.com).
And this is not professional. Also the free website does not give you access to all features of wordpress. And also the free hosting will be some what slow.
I will personally recommend bluehost as hosting provider. As it gives you a free domain and a professional mail address (yourname@yoursitename.com). Bluehost is also fast.
I have also made a website using bluehost and it was great using it.
And my this blog using blogger is also a good host provider. But as it is free it does not give enough features
My another blog using wordpress is also free.

You can select any plan from these according to your requirement and budget.
3. Search for you domain name.
4. Fill all details about you and your website
Then you are gonna need to fill all details about you and your website. That's easy ni need for instructions.
5. Check you package and finish registration.
You will need to choose your package whether you need wesbite for 12 months or more. You can also buy another functions from bluehost like site protection and domain privacy. And that is gonna add up some more cost. But they are good if you are serious about your website.
6. Final step is to create a password.
